Nowadays the Library is much more than just lending books, they regularly offer different activities for different target groups. Cialona created an Experience Room especially for children for the Helmond-Peel Library.
In this TechLab, children can learn about the latest media and technology through expeditions with different themes. These include 3D printing and robot programming.
The TechLab attracts the attention of every visitor. It is clearly present on the second floor of the library in Helmond and stands out because of its unusual design. It shows the connection between technology, language and stories. Which fits perfectly with the vision of the library.
The lab is placed open and transparent in the middle and has an innovative and hip look, making it attractive to young people. The layout of the space is flexible, as the furniture is movable and there is a green screen that can be rolled up after use.
The Library wants to contribute to children’s personal development, especially in this rapidly changing society. Research shows that young people are less digitally savvy than they think.
In the TechLab, during each expedition, children are introduced to a new, educational and current topic each time to ensure that they master 21st -century skills.
For the design of the interior, inspiration was taken from science fiction films and sets. This involved looking at colors and shapes, and in this genre, a combination of extremely graphic and angular stands out. Hence, the hexagon, the hexagon, appears a lot in the design. To make the space attractive to children, bright colors have been used. And there is plenty of space to sort and store all the supplies.
